Everything you need

A full-featured manager that puts privacy first

AES-256-GCM Encryption

Every title, URL, and folder name is encrypted before being stored. Even with direct access to browser storage, all data is unreadable without your password.

Auto-Lock

Locks after 10 minutes of inactivity. Lock manually with the lock icon or Alt+L. Bookmarks are inaccessible until you re-enter your password.

Nested Folders

Create unlimited folder hierarchies with drag & drop. Rename or delete folders inline. Each folder shows its bookmark count.

Full-Text Search

Real-time search across all bookmarks by title or URL — no need to navigate folders. Results appear as you type.

Clear Browsing History

One click removes Chrome's history for all domains in your bookmarks — no traces left outside the extension.

Encrypted Backup

Export an encrypted backup file anytime. Restore on the same or a different device — password required to decrypt.

Bulk Operations

Select multiple bookmarks with Ctrl+click, then move or delete them all at once.

QR Code Sharing

Generate a QR code for any bookmark in one click. Scan with any phone to open the URL instantly — no copying needed.

Quick Close Alt+A

Instantly close the current tab and wipe its domain history in one keystroke. Can be disabled in Settings → Privacy. macOS: Cmd+Shift+A.

Import from Chrome

Full or selective import from Chrome's built-in bookmark manager. Existing bookmarks are preserved — nothing is overwritten.

Dark & Light Theme

Dark, Light, or system-matched. Changes apply instantly. The site theme follows the extension's own design language.

Subfolder Support

Folders inside folders — unlimited depth. The sidebar tree in the manager shows the full hierarchy with breadcrumb navigation.

Security that doesn't ask for trust

The whole point of private bookmarks is that no one else can read them — including us. Every byte of bookmark data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it ever touches storage. The key is derived from your master password using PBKDF2 with 600,000 iterations.

There's no "forgot password" option. Not because it's inconvenient to build — but because it would require storing a recovery key, which weakens the model. Losing your password means losing your data. That's the design.

The code is fully open source. You can read exactly what happens to your data.

FAQ

All bookmarks are encrypted locally with AES-256-GCM before being stored. The key is derived from your master password using PBKDF2 with 600,000 iterations. Data never leaves your computer — not even to us.

Password cannot be recovered

We don't store your password or any recovery keys. Forgetting it means permanent loss of all encrypted bookmarks. Store it in a password manager like Bitwarden, 1Password, or KeePass.

Four ways: click Add Current Page in the popup, use the + toolbar icon for manual entry, right-click any page and select "Add to Holy Private Bookmarks", or add directly from the bookmark manager.

Click the folder+ icon in the popup toolbar, enter a name, then drag and drop bookmarks into it. Subfolders work the same way — create them inside any existing folder.

Yes. Go to Settings → Export & Import → Create Backup. This produces an encrypted file — your password is required to restore it. You can also export to standard HTML for use in any browser.

Alt+A (macOS: Cmd+Shift+A) closes the current tab and automatically deletes all Chrome browsing history for that domain. It can be toggled off in Settings → Privacy.

Check that the password is entered correctly (case-sensitive). Try reloading from chrome://extensions. If "Stay Unlocked" is enabled in Settings, try disabling it. If the password is forgotten, access cannot be restored.

Yes. Open Settings → Export & Import. Choose full import or selective import to pick specific folders. Existing bookmarks are preserved — nothing is overwritten.
